I love homemade lemonade. I’ve even made it healthier by cutting some sugar and substituting with Stevia. But sometimes we want something a little bit more fun, so we go for strawberry lemonade. Or we just go totally crazy and add some fizz! Woohoo! Never a dull moment at our house!
Here’s how I made it this time. (Yeah, it’s pretty much wing it and hope for the best, really.)
Here’s what you’ll need. See recipe below for details.
Here’s the part Josiah (my 5 year old) likes. Squeeze the juice from 2-3 lemons.
Looking for a citrus juicer? I got this one a long time ago at Sam’s Club, but I think I found you a similar one on Amazon. (Just click on the picture or where it says “citrus juicer”). I chose this one out of the many available because it looks a lot like mine but it’s red, which is my favorite color. (That’s is my affiliate link, so if you buy through this link, I’ll make a small commission–maybe enough to buy a lemon.)
Okay, back to business.
Put all but the sparkling water into the blender.
Transfer to a pitcher and add the sparkling water.
Take a taste to see if it needs more of anything.
Pour into a tall glass of ice and pretend you’re on vacation!
- Juice from 2-3 lemons
- ⅔ cups sugar (or ⅓ plus a teaspoon of Stevia)
- 6-10 frozen strawberries
- 1 quart sparkling water
- Place the first 3 ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth.
- Transfer to a pitcher and add the sparkling water.
- If it's too strong, you may want to add more water.
- Serve over ice and enjoy!
