BBQ Burgers & Beans
Fun Friday Night meal, easy to prepare.
Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1½ onions
  • ½ green pepper
  • 1 TBSP brown sugar
  • barbecue sauce
  • 1 large can baked beans
  • 4 slices cheese
  • 4 slices bacon
Instructions
  1. Start by shaping your burgers. I use a hamburger shaping tool from Tupperware.
  2. Next, slice one whole onion and cook on low in a small skillet with a splash of oil.
  3. While your grill is preheating (I use a cast iron grill pan from Cracker Barrel) cook 4 pieces of bacon in a large skillet.
  4. Sprinkle the burgers with salt and pepper and put them into the hot grill pan.
  5. Chop up half a green pepper and half an onion.
  6. When the bacon is done, set it on a plate lined with a paper towel.
  7. If there is a lot of bacon fat, drain some of it off. Leave just enough to lightly coat the pan.
  8. Brown the onion and green pepper in the pan you used for the bacon.
  9. Add the can of beans and a TBSP of brown sugar to the pepper and onion mix.
  10. You can either keep the strips of bacon to add to the burgers or chop them up and add them to the beans.
  11. Top your burgers with cheese, browned onions, and barbecue sauce.
