Fun Friday Night meal, easy to prepare.
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1½ onions
- ½ green pepper
- 1 TBSP brown sugar
- barbecue sauce
- 1 large can baked beans
- 4 slices cheese
- 4 slices bacon
- Start by shaping your burgers. I use a hamburger shaping tool from Tupperware.
- Next, slice one whole onion and cook on low in a small skillet with a splash of oil.
- While your grill is preheating (I use a cast iron grill pan from Cracker Barrel) cook 4 pieces of bacon in a large skillet.
- Sprinkle the burgers with salt and pepper and put them into the hot grill pan.
- Chop up half a green pepper and half an onion.
- When the bacon is done, set it on a plate lined with a paper towel.
- If there is a lot of bacon fat, drain some of it off. Leave just enough to lightly coat the pan.
- Brown the onion and green pepper in the pan you used for the bacon.
- Add the can of beans and a TBSP of brown sugar to the pepper and onion mix.
- You can either keep the strips of bacon to add to the burgers or chop them up and add them to the beans.
- Top your burgers with cheese, browned onions, and barbecue sauce.
