Cheese Tortellini in Alfredo Sauce, Garlic Bread, Salad

I know this meal uses some “packaged foods”, which I don’t do a lot of. But I haven’t ventured into making my own tortellini yet, and I just don’t care to make my own alfredo sauce. I like the mild flavor of the sauce in the jar. Some things are just not worth it to me to make from scratch. Alfredo sauce and spaghetti sauce are among them. And apparently, so is Italian bread.

If you can stand to make a meal out of 3 store bought items, this will be a super quick meal but it will still have that home made feel to it.


Cheese Tortellini in Alfredo Sauce, Garlic Bread, Salad

  • 1 pkg three-cheese tortellini
  • 1 jar Alfredo sauce
  • 1 loaf italian bread from the bakery
  • butter, room temperature
  • garlic powder
  • 1 head romaine lettuce
  • ½ green pepper
  • 1 tomato
  • 2 scallions
  • salad dressing
  1. Slice italian loaf into 1 inch slices.
  2. Butter one side of each piece.
  3. Sprinkle the buttered side with garlic powder.
  4. Reassemble into a loaf.
  5. Wrap loosely with foil.
  6. Warm in oven about 10 minutes.
  7. Cook the tortellini according to the package.
  8. Wash, chop, and combine salad ingredients into a large bowl or platter.
  9. Drain the pasta and return to the pan.
  10. Add sauce to noodles, stir gently.
  11. Turn stove to low and heat gently just until sauce is warm.
